On March 7, 2025, The Blackbird Ballycotton hosted the Ballycotton RNLI ‘Back to the 80s’ event, a spectacular night that transported guests straight to the neon-lit era of leg warmers, synth music, and big hair. The event was a resounding success, raising an incredible €10,101 for Ballycotton RNLI and its life-saving efforts.
The night was filled with classic 80s anthems that had everyone on their feet, dancing and singing along to their favourite throwback hits. Attendees fully embraced the theme, dressing in their best 80s-inspired outfits, from bold neon colours to iconic rockstar looks. The atmosphere was electric, with laughter and nostalgia filling the air.
While the night was all about fun, it also had a deeper purpose. Ballycotton RNLI plays a crucial role in safeguarding lives at sea, and the generosity of everyone who attended made a tangible impact. Thanks to the overwhelming support, we raised €10,101 to help fund the essential training and equipment needed for our volunteer lifeboat crew.
We want to extend a massive thank you to everyone who joined us, donated, and contributed to making this event such a success. A special shoutout to The TrawlerBoyz for feeding everyone, Tripp the Light and DJ Mossie who kept the energy high, and the volunteers who worked tirelessly behind the scenes.
If you missed out on this unforgettable night, don’t worry—The Blackbird Ballycotton is always planning more fantastic events. Keep an eye on their calendar and join us next time for another celebration of music, community, and giving back!
